Family-owned bakery, The Brownie Box, has opened at Merry Hill this week, adding to the centre’s growing number of independent eateries.
Located opposite H&M on the Upper Mall, The Brownie Box serves up a range of freshly baked and handcrafted brownies, blondies and cookies, made by its team of friendly bakers.
The Brownie Box was first developed during lockdown as its founder Gemma Farquhar wanted to provide her local community with sweet treats throughout the pandemic. Now, two years on, the business has grown significantly and is opening its fifth store in Merry Hill.
Merry Hill visitors can choose from a delicious range of treat boxes loaded with its signature bakes, including Kinder and Terry’s Chocolate Orange brownies, Biscoff and Cadbury’s Flake blondies and Creme Egg and Milkybar cookies. The Brownie Box also has some decadent vegan bakes, such as its Oreo brookie – an indulgent brownie base with a cookie on top.
Creating six new jobs at the centre, The Brownie Box kiosk is another addition to the booming food and drink offering at Merry Hill, following on from the recent opening of leading authentic German bratwurst fast-food brand, Extrawurst.
Gemma & Ross Farquhar, Directors at The Brownie Box said: “After launching during lockdown in 2020, our mission was to create a brand that elevated the humble brownie and offered moments of joy during a period of uncertainty.
“Since then, we have grown exponentially and are delighted to offer our unapologetically sweet treats to the people of Dudley and beyond.”
Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at Merry Hill said: “We’re thrilled that The Brownie Box has chosen Merry Hill for its latest opening, adding to our exciting food and beverage offerings at the centre.
